Courtroom 12 Restoration, RI Judiciary

Providence, Rhode Island

Client: Rhode Island Judiciary, Providence, RI

Our project for the RI Superior Courts Frank J. Licht Judicial Complex consisted of complete restoration of the signature Courtroom 12 within the circa 1920’s Courthouse.  The work involved complete restoration of all woodwork, replacement in kind of damaged woodwork and restoring the paint colors to the original historic nature.  Gold tipping and glazing finishes were installed on the decorative plaster ceiling reliefs.  The carpet was replaced with a decorative pattern as the main field and solid coordinating color as borders.  The original electrical chandeliers and wall sconces were removed, cleaned, polished, rewired then re-upholstered and additional jury seating was installed.  The Judge’s chamber, outer offices and jury deliberation rooms were also restored in a similar fashion.
